Located in the heart of Black Rock, Carpenter's Pub is built on a simple idea: serve great food, pour great drinks, and create a space where people actually want to spend time. The menu focuses on elevated pub favorites—perfectly cooked steaks, crisp fried chicken, and stacked burgers—executed with care by a team that knows what they’re doing.
Behind the scenes, the restaurant is led by Joe Farrell and Sean Nye. Joe is the force behind multiple concepts, including Walrus Alley in Westport and Walrus + Carpenter, a Black Rock staple for over a decade. Sean worked alongside Joe at Walrus + Carpenter before helping open several successful restaurants across Connecticut, bringing a sharp eye for hospitality and a bar program that’s both thoughtful and approachable. In the kitchen, Chef Jon Vaast elevates every plate with the technique and flavor that turn simple food into something memorable.

The kitchen is free of seed oils, artificial flavors, artificial colors, and high fructose corn syrup—not as a gimmick, but because better ingredients make better food. The result is a menu that feels indulgent without cutting corners: food you crave, made the right way, served in a place that feels like it’s been part of the neighborhood all along.
